How to prepare or use Gelatin?

It is very easy to prepare or use gelatin in your recipes. The video below will help you.


  1. Weigh/measure out the required quantity of gelatin into a bowl/saucepan
  2. Add water as per the quantity mentioned in the recipe
  3. Keep the bowl/pan aside for 10-15 minutes for swelling. It's best if you keep it for 30 minutes.
  4. Then heat the gelatin on low flame with continuous stirring with a spoon.
  5. The optimum temperature is 60-70 deg C and it should never boil.
  6. Alternatively, for less quantity of gelatin, melting can be done by placing the bowl with soaked gelatin in another vessel filled with boiled water and stirring with a spoon. 
  7. Stir to completely dissolve and form a clear solution
  8. Cool slightly and transfer in the hot condition
